TATTOO AFTERCARE

IMG_4804.jpg

OPSITE (clear wrap) INSTRUCTIONS

  • Leave the wrap on for the amount of time that your artist recommends (1 – 3 days). The wrap is safe to wear in the shower.

  • Ink/blood/plasma will build up inside the wrap, that’s totally normal and expected.

  • If any liquid leaks out from the bandage remove it immediately and continue on to the cleaning process.

  • After wearing the wrap for the recommended number of days, remove it (it’s easiest to remove in the shower), and clean your tattoo with warm water and unscented anti-bacterial soap. Pat dry with a clean towel and allow your tattoo to air dry for 10 minutes.

  • Your artist might recommend re-wrapping it and provide you with the supplies to re-wrap it. If you need any assistance in re-wrapping, feel free to come in. This wrap can stay on for up to 6 days.

  • After the wrap is removed and the tattoo is clean, we recommend moisturizing with a natural, unscented product such as cocoa butter.

  • Apply in a thin layer at least three times a day or whenever the tattoo looks/feels dry.  Continue to moisturize for three weeks.

  • In rare cases, clients have a mild allergic reaction to the adhesive on the wrap. In this case, remove the wrap as soon as you notice any redness on the outside of the bandage. Once removed the redness should clear up within a day. It shouldn't affect the final heal of your tattoo.

MEDICAL PAD/PLASTIC WRAP INSTRUCTIONS

  • Take wrapping off 2 to 5 hours after application.

  • Wash with warm water and unscented anti-bacterial soap, pat dry with a clean towel. Allow tattoo to air dry for 10 minutes.

  • Moisturize with an unscented natural moisturizer such as pure cocoa butter.

  • Repeat the washing process three times a day for the first three days, and continue to moisturize for three weeks.

  • Keep away from direct sunlight for the first month. After the tattoo is healed, continue to use sunscreen to protect your tattoo.

  • DO NOT submerge your tattoo underwater (pools, hot tubs, lakes/ocean, baths) for at least a month.

  • Make sure to clean fresh tattoos immediately after work-outs or exercising.

  • We tattoo with coco butter, and always recommend a natural moisturizer to help heal your tattoo. We suggest avoiding any petroleum-based moisturizers, as it blocks pores and leads to heavier scabbing.
